Counting Sheep Shepherd’s Hut

A tranquil, wool-insulated Somerset hideaway, surrounded by nothing but the very best that nature has to offer (including plenty of sheep!).
  • Sleeps: 2
  • Bedroom: Studio
  • Bathroom: External
  • Minimum stay: 3 nights

Enchantingly secluded in six acres of a soothingly picturesque working sheep farm, Counting Sheep Shepherd’s Hut represents the perfect rustic escape from the stresses of everyday life, without compromising on a shred of natural luxury.

You’ll soon discover that Karen, Counting Sheep’s friendly owner, has really thought of everything as you arrive at your wool-insulated, double-glazed haven, surrounded by gently rustling trees.  Inside, the décor is clean-lined and light, and you’ll find a wood-burning stove to keep you extra-toasty all through your stay.

Each morning you can enjoy your breakfast at the table, thoughtfully positioned by a window that looks out over lush green fields… the most incredible of views to enjoy with a steaming mug of early-morning coffee! Later on, why not fire up the barbecue and enjoy a sizzling feast, al-fresco style?

A cosy bed, dressed in fresh linen, is the ideal setting for lazy lie-ins, and you’ll also discover a kitchen with hob, kettle, toaster, microwave and a cold-water sink as well as a shower and toilet facilities.  New for this year you will also find your very own barbecue and pizza oven facilities and, perhaps the most important of them all – that inviting hot tub to soothe your cares away at the end of a day’s sightseeing – outdoor living surely doesn’t come much more luxurious than this?

Counting Sheep is truly a spot from which to enjoy the countryside at its quietest (save for a few bleats every now and again!) and its absolute finest.  Low light pollution allows you to enjoy the star-studded night sky in all its glory as you reconnect with your loved one, chatting endlessly about life, love and everything in between, before sleeping soundly and silently in the fresh country air.

By day, why not begin your break with a wander around the farm, making friends with the sheep along the way, of course?  The Chipstable Parish Way makes for a delightfully green and scenic country ramble – and as there’s no public transport nearby, don’t forget to pack your wellies and some extra-sturdy footwear!
