They say good things come in small packages and guests at The Garden House Studio are bound to agree! Hidden away in the grounds of a family home, this luxury self-catering studio offers all the comforts two people need for an idyllic retreat to the Jurassic Coast, and is a haven of peace and serenity all year round.

The Garden House Studio started life as an outbuilding of The Garden House – a 1960s single-storey family home set in an acre of beautiful gardens. In 2010, the owners converted the outbuilding to a self-catering holiday let, offering visitors to Lyme Regis the peace and quiet of their beautiful gardens – all the while secluded from the main family home.

Divided into two areas – the large living area and wet room – The Garden House Studio has been cleverly designed to make outstanding use of space. Luxury facilities and vintage, mid-century furniture combine to create a beautiful yet practical feel throughout.

Central to the living area is the Yeoman wood burner that, even on the chilliest nights, packs out enough heat to warm the whole studio. Electricity is provided through the sustainable rooftop solar panels, powering everything, including the TV/DVD player.

The fully equipped kitchenette has been fitted with all the essentials, including a 2-burner ceramic hob, combi-microwave oven, and even a dishwasher. Cooking essentials like olive oil, salt & pepper, fresh ground coffee, tea and sugar are provided plus a bottle of wine and local chocolate as a first night treat. Or why not book a food order from a local supermarket and have it waiting in the cupboards on your arrival?

Outside on the large private deck is a gas BBQ, and its handy location near the door allows it to be used even in inclement weather. However, in this part of the country, you’ve a greater chance of sunny days, giving you the opportunity to make the most of al fresco dining amid the tranquillity of the gardens.

A new addition to the studio is an inviting woodfired sauna and outdoor shower just adjacent to the studio and accessed via a gate and steps from the deck.  What a perfect way to end your day after a busy day of exploring!
