The Treehouse at Lavender Hill

Set among the branches of a magnificent lime tree is the spectacular Treehouse - a fairy-tale hideaway for four in gorgeous Somerset.
  • Sleeps: 4
  • Bedrooms: 2
  • Bathroom: 1
  • Minimum stay: 3 nights

With five-star boutique interiors, this award-winning home-from-home offers luxury, indulgence, and unforgettable enchantment.

The Treehouse is based on a small farm near the village of Halse.  Surrounded by fields and farmland, you’ll be treated to stunning views in this perfect location.  As you enter the private garden, you’ll be amazed at this truly unique home; a cedar shingle and timber-clad exterior, an octagonal footprint, triangular windows, and no fewer than three fabulous deck areas, accessed via a variety of wooden steps and walkways that surround the house.

Set on stilts, this two-storey home sits level with the branches of the surrounding trees for that ‘treetop’ experience.  However, it’s been beautifully constructed and finished to offer a solid, warm, and luxurious home (no surprise, then, that it’s also achieved TV fame!).

You’ll enter into the exquisite open-plan living area, complete with comfy sofas, a dining area, and a bespoke kitchen.  Hardwood floors (with underfloor heating!) and country-style décor create a homely space, while sunlight floods through the windows and French doors.  Curl up on an inviting leather sofa to watch your favourite film on the plasma TV, and throw another log into the wood burner to keep everyone toasty warm.

The shaker-style kitchen area is fully fitted with an electric hob and oven, a dishwasher, and a washer-drier, while every pot and pan you’ll need is found in the cupboards.  Beech worktops and a Belfast sink provide extra touches of country-style luxury.  After you’ve cooked up a storm, enjoy your meals around the large oak dining table, while looking out to the fields beyond – now that’s food with a view!

Leading from the living area, you’ll find a beautiful family bathroom, complete with a heavenly freestanding bath.  There’s also a cosy bunk bed room – perfect for children to enjoy a peaceful night’s rest after the adventures of the day.

Central to the living area is a bespoke spiral staircase, leading you up to the magical Master bedroom.  If you’ve never slept in an octagonal bedroom before, this is surely the way to do it – with a pitched ceiling and triangular skylights looking out to fields of sheep, ponies, and chickens.  The super king-size bed offers more than enough space to lie back in pure comfort, while the soft glow of fairy lights adds the perfect touch of ambience.
