There's nothing quite as iconic as a red London bus, and now you can stay in one at Trafalgar Square!

This fantastic piece of 1960s history offers unique accommodation for two, complete with luxurious décor, quirky original features, and even a hot tub.

Based at the South Causey Inn - an independent hotel in County Durham's spectacular Beamish Valley - Trafalgar Square is nothing short of spectacular.  Set in its own private garden, this renovated double decker will have you in awe on first sight, where an original stop display and a 10 Downing Street-inspired front door are just a couple of the touches that greet you.

Once inside, you'll find yourself on the first deck, now an opulent bathroom to die for.  At the centre of it all is the gorgeous roll-top bath, inviting you to relax back and watch the flat screen television for total indulgence.  Decorated in stylish greys, there's little to guess Trafalgar Square's original purpose - until you spot the steering wheel just above the sink!

A winding, spiral staircase takes you to the upper deck, where you'll find a cosy living area and the lavish, French boudoir-inspired bedroom.  Enjoy your morning coffee on vintage chairs in the breakfast nook, or cuddle up on the bespoke sofa instead.

Moving through, you'll find the magnificent bedroom, packed to the rafters with ‘wow' factor.  Plush red velvet lines the walls, and at the very end lies the sumptuous queen size bed.  Curl up under the faux fur bedspread, enjoy sweet dreams, and look forward to waking in this truly unique space.

Offering such decadent luxury, Trafalgar Square has all the makings of a special romantic getaway.  Remote-controlled candles add a touch of ambience, while the private hot tub offers yet another touch to make your stay an unforgettable one.

As well as Trafalgar Square to enjoy, you can also take advantage of everything South Causey Inn has to offer its guests.  Enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the outstanding restaurant, where you might even enjoy homegrown delights from the onsite Herb Garden - delicious!

With 100 acres of the Beamish Valley to enjoy, work off some of those indulgences with a walk around the Inn's private lakes or through Beamish Woods.  Spot wild flowers in this historic woodland, or take a wander along Beamish River as it meanders through the landscape.  Just five minutes away is Causey Arch Bridge, the oldest surviving single-arch railway bridge in the world, where you'll find even more trails and stunning scenery.

Your four-legged friend can enjoy exploring this gorgeous area too, as dogs are as welcome as people at South Causey Inn.  Your pooch will be spoiled with an orthopaedic dog bed, a water bowl and even their own goody bag!  That's sure to get their tail wagging...

By staying at Trafalgar Square, you can also take advantage of discounted entry to the ever-popular Beamish Museum.  This open-air, living history museum demonstrates life as it was in the 1820s, 1900s and 1940s - the perfect way to immerse yourself in the region's past.  Or, for something a little more cosmopolitan, the bright lights of Newcastle are just 20 minutes away - great for sightseeing, shopping, and endless bars and restaurants.

However, with such a fantastic bolt hole as Trafalgar Square to enjoy, you'd be easily forgiven for spending every moment aboard your bus.  Once you've hopped aboard, you won't want to get off again!
